Screw on Ice Studs for Off-Road & Work Vehicles

 Basic Rule
Never fit a stud that is too long for the tread depth, i.e. an 18 mm stud requires a 17 mm tread depth. 3 mm of the stud should be raised above the tire surface, which gives a margin of 2 mm down to the cord. The thickness of the cord varies between 4 and 20 mm depending on the tire type.
To achieve optimal results, count the number of contact patches on the tire and make a strategy for fitting the studs.
If unsure, choose a shorter stud model. There are several sizes to fit various tread depths.
MAXIGRIP HM
This stud is easily fitted and dismounted with a special installation tool that is supplied with the product. Initially, the tool is set to the basic setting to provide a 3 mm projection of the stud above the tire surface. The projection may vary depending on the resistance of the rubber; in some cases the tool must be reset. Learning how to fit the studs is easy.
In order to dismount the studs, the special tool is adjusted backwards.
The correct distance between the rubber and hard metal edge is 3 mm. Remember, MAXIGRIP HM ice studs last for several seasons for most users.
