Automatic Seat Leveller
There is no question that operating a forest machine is a tough job. Not only is the terrain challenging, but , frequently, the operator has more decisions to make than a pilot does flying a plane. The quality of these decisions has a huge impact on production, safety, profitability, and operator health.
Automatic levelling of the operator’s seat is an efficient way of minimizing the risk of musculoskeletal disorder and increasing productivity. This is discussed in recent independent study completed by the Swedish Institute for Forestry Research.
The study also shows, that a seat leveller increases the productivity of the machine regardless of slopes of the ground.
Sit Right automatic seat leveller provides three factors that are beneficial to the operator and the owner.
Well-being. The S/S-TILT allows the operator to sit straight, helping to prevent musculoskeletal disorder. That means the operator is sitting more relaxed and can concentrate on operating the equipment instead of trying to get comfortable when working on a slope. A comfortable work environment is important for the operator to be healthy and productive.
Position. The body of the driver is exposed to static stress while working on a slope. This often leads to musculoskeletal disorder in arms, shoulders and spine. Studies indicate that approximately 50% of the forest machine operators have musculo-skeletal disorder of varying degree. Limit this risk by using the S/S-TILT!
Profitability. Levelling of the seat is considered one of the most effective technical steps in preventing musculoskeletal disorder among forest machine operators. With the S/S-TILT makes it more comfortable for the operator to work on slopes and hilly terrain. The result of sitting right is an increased production. An increase of 4-11% according to a study completed by the Swedish Institute for Forestry Research. On a yearly basis, the increase in production is a considerable when compared to the initial cost of the investment.
